NAWIC 2011 AWARDS FOR
EXCELLENCE ANNOUNCED
The National Association of Women in
Construction (NAWIC) NSW chapter has announced the winners of
its 2011 Awards for Excellence. The annual awards program aims to
celebrate the achievements of women
working in the property and construction industry.
NAWIC announced this year’s winners at
the Awards for Excellence Ball, held Thursday 25 August 2010, at
Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf.
The black tie ball, themed a ‘time to
shine,’ is one of the industry’s most prestigious events and
attracted
over 800 guests. This year’s ball was hosted by TV and radio
personality Tom Williams.
The prestigious Rider Levett Bucknall Crystal Vision Award was
awarded to Jo-Anne Harrison, Managing
Director of CBRE Projects.
“Jo-Anne’s role as MD of CB Richard
Ellis Projects, and her appointment to the Global Project Management
Executive, make her an excellent role model and place her in a
position to influence policies and practices
that will help women follow in her footsteps.
She is the only woman in her company in
such a position, and this level of seniority is rare in Project
Management. She demonstrated positive change through her initiatives
in mentoring, flexible working and
training in CBRE and beyond,” the judges commented.
NAWIC’s NSW Chapter President, Bridgeen
Rocks believes “Jo-Anne is a worthy winner of the year’s
Crystal Vision Award. She is a role model for woman entering the
construction industry. It is so important to
see successful female Managing Directors,” she said.
